The authentic Nicene Creed says "one baptism for the REMISSION of sins". The ecumenical (Arminian revisionist) Nicene Creed says "one baptism for the "FORGIVENESS of sins. The difference is huge and I don't think I need to explain why.
Also, the ecumenical Nicene Creed says "He suffered death and was buried" rather than "He suffered and was buried" thereby removing the meaning that He was punished on our behalf. To "suffer death" is a transitive use of the word to suffer. It has nothing to do with pain and suffering but rather carries a meaning like "Barton suffered [underwent] an early exit from the Open after losing to King in the first round." .
The intransitive use of the english word "suffer" is required to convey the meaning of the original Nicene Creed. In Greek, the verb is very simple and powerful: "παθόντα." It means literally "to know suffering." Let's also look at the Latin: "passus est". Like English, it means to "undergo" when it is transitive, but to "suffer" when it is intransitive. Since there is no direct object "death", we know that the latin and the original english is using the intransitive verb. It is the same verb from which we get our English understanding of "The Passion".
It's not hard to see why Arminians (most of today's so-called "evangelicals") are reluctant to return to the authentic rendition of the Nicene Creed. To do so would expose their aberrant theology of atonement.
