The Protestant Face Of Anglicanism

This is a book really worth reading.  Zahl is the former dean of Trinity Episcopal Seminary. He and another former dean of TES (John Rodgers) are Protestants, and neither would be ashamed to be called Calvinist. Alas, they are both retired now, and not many have risen up to replace them, either at Trinity or in the Anglican movement generally. Their's is a dying breed, almost extinct.
John Haney When I was working my way out of Anglo Catholicism I knew what I was rejecting, and why, and "how I thought things should be." What I did not know was where I was within the context of Anglicanism having never in my life had any exposure to the Reformed, Protestant tradition. In search I read this book. My relief was immediate, and immense. Finally I was able to the name the road I had found, and had been walking on for some time: Protestant Anglican belief and practice. Words cannot adequately describe how beneficial I found this book. December 10, 2009
